Operating Period: Description: Welcome to La Belle Cabane, where their story is woven with the threads of resilience, creativity, and a deep connection to both nature and their Indigenous roots. Located in Kingston, NB, La Belle Cabane is more than a business; it builds authentic healing spaces with a mission to empower individuals to reconnect with nature, heal their minds and bodies, and embrace the transformative power of self-love. You are invited to find freedom in the forest and embark on a journey of self-discovery, wellness, and rejuvenation. We share our mission: "noojimo," or to heal. Our vision is to be a sanctuary where individuals can escape the demands of modern life, rediscover their connection to the natural world, and experience lasting transformations. Beginning with a tiny cabin, "la belle cabane," they found their haven in Kingston, NB, as well as the inspiration to build La Belle Cabane—a vision encompassing five cabins on 40 acres, inviting others to discover their own "cabane" and focus on healing to #findfreedomintheforest. Cory, a former Plant Manager, and Tasha, the previous Coordinator of the Biidaaban Doula Collective, run the business. They are both from small towns and share a combined dream of continuing to live in a rural area surrounded by nature. Their diverse backgrounds and life experiences have shaped La Belle Cabane into a unique space for healing and self-discovery. In response to challenges to their cultural identity, they emphasize their authenticity as Indigenous individuals. They are proud Citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario (where they grew up) and identify as Anishinaabe due to their family’s history and lineage. As a business, they are Rainbow Registered, affirming their commitment to being a 2SLGBTQI+ friendly space and are certified through the Canadian Council of Indigenous Business.
