Brennan Hill's Camping & Cabins - South River, ON

A Peaceful Escape for Camping and Stargazing in Northern Ontario

Discover the magic of Northern Ontario at our 100-acre campground in South River, where wilderness, comfort, and star-filled skies come together. With just 44 spacious sites spread across wooded forest, our focus is on providing a quiet, private, and rejuvenating escape. From tenting and trailer sites to cozy cabins, every stay blends rustic charm with modern amenities. Thoughtfully spaced 50–75 feet apart, each campsite ensures privacy and a deep connection with nature. For added convenience, we also offer a trailer rental option and limited seasonal sites for those who wish to embrace the beauty of the changing seasons.

Eco-Friendly Comforts
Sustainability is at the heart of our experience. Powered by the sun, our cabins, trailer rentals, and six solar-serviced campsites feature ambient lighting and charging for small electronics. Our barrier-free comfort station features showers, bathrooms, and laundry facilities, while the campground remains radio-quiet and generator-free, preserving its peaceful atmosphere. Essentials like firewood, snacks, ice cream, and outdoor necessities are available at our on-site store.

Trails, Activities, and Relaxation
Winding trails invite hiking and biking adventures through unspoiled wilderness. At the same time, on-site recreation includes a playground, volleyball and soccer nets, bocce ball, and a picnic shelter with a charcoal BBQ. Beyond the campground, water lovers can enjoy kayaking and canoeing on the South River and Forest Lake, or swim at nearby Eagle Lake and Lake Bernard. For bigger adventures, day trips to South River, Sundridge, Huntsville, and North Bay offer a range of activities, including golf, ATVing, shopping, and cultural experiences.

A Destination for Stargazers
What truly sets our campground apart is the night sky. Free from city lights, our expansive open field transforms into a natural planetarium after sunset. The Milky Way arcs overhead in brilliant clarity, while countless stars, planets, and seasonal constellations inspire awe. Whether lying back beside your campfire or photographing the heavens, stargazing here is an unforgettable experience that connects you to the cosmos.

Pet-Friendly and Family-Friendly
Our cabins offer pet-friendly options, allowing every member of the family to join in the adventure. With wide-open spaces, trails, and water access nearby, your days will be filled with exploration, and your nights with peace under the stars.
